LTC Student Awarded Society for Technical Communication Scholarship

Briana Hoffman, MA student in Professional and Technical Communication, received a $1,000 scholarship from the Lone Star Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC).

The STC’s Traditional Education Scholarship is awarded to outstanding students who are working toward a degree in technical communication. Briana just finished an internship at UniTherm Insulation Systems and will begin a second internship at Sabre Airline Solutions next month. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career as an instructional designer, focusing on education or training and development and providing tools for students in a computer-based learning environment. Briana was also the first recipient of the Cobb, Greenwell, Sebastian scholarship, an LTC scholarship established by former UNT technical communication graduates.

Briana is one of three recent LTC students to receive an STC scholarship. Carrie Klein, MA in professional and technical communication, received the scholarship in 2011; Stefanie Beaubien, BA in English with a technical writing emphasis, received the scholarship in 2010.

Congratulations, Briana.
